Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal has said that the current Nerazzurri squad is united both on and off of the pitch, according to a report in the Italian print media

Speaking during an interview for the Inter matchday program, via FCInternews, the Chilean midfielder talked about the feeling within the Inter camp as they head into the final three games of the season with a chance of winning the Scudetto.

“This group is made up of decisive players, united on and off the pitch to give their best and achieve our goals, as we did with the Super Cup.”

Speaking about football more broadly, Arturo Vidal said that Lionel Messi is the best opponent he has come up against in his career.

“I have always chased the ball because for me it meant and still means passion, fun, goals, life. The football pitch is my dimension, that’s why my determination and desire to win is always at its maximum. The strongest opponent I’ve ever met? Messi. The most difficult one in training? Ribery.”

The former Juventus midfielder talked about some of the key moments in his long footballing career and one of them was the victory over Juventus at the start of 2021 that pushed Inter towards the title.

“With the Inter shirt, I happened to be a protagonist in the victory against Juventus on 17 January 2021. With my goal and Barella’s, we won a game that gave us a big push towards winning the Scudetto.”

Another big moment was helping Chile win their first-ever Copa America in 2015: “July 4, 2015 marked a historic moment for the Chilean national team, which won its first Copa America after its win over Argentina. And I was lucky enough to experience it as a protagonist. An unforgettable day.”

The earliest moment mentioned was his first-ever goal for Chilean side Colo Colo: “The match of my first goal with the Colo Colo jersey. It was 19 September 2006: a unique emotion”.
