Stade Reims forward player Hugo Ekitike has emerged as a possible transfer target for Inter instead of Gianluca Scamacca or Duvan Zapata, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport today, Inter are still assessing which attacking players they want to sign in the summer.

A new target is Hugo Ekitike, a 19-year-old French forward who is very highly rated. He almost joined Newcastle United in January and would also cost around €40 million. Inter think that fee can be brought down given he has struggled with injuries lately.

He has had a thigh problem that has stopped him from playing for a couple of months. Inter feel that they can work the French club down on their price and the Nerazzurri are working with the player’s entourage now.

The striker will turn 20 years old on June 20 and is considered a prospect worth investing in by many clubs.
