AC Milan have set a precedent this season that should encourage Inter to beat Empoli and put pressure on the Rossoneri, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan have not responded well to Inter winning first on four different occasions in the second half of the season.

On matchday 22 and 23, AC Milan suffered a shock defeat to Spezia and then a draw against Juventus, both after Inter had won their games.

The same happened on the 31st and 32nd matchdays, as the Rossoneri drew with both Bologna and Torino after Inter had won their games.

Given Inter are playing on Friday evening at home to Empoli and AC Milan are not in action until Sunday night away at Hellas Verona, this is a prime opportunity for Inter to go top of the table and apply serious pressure on their rivals.
