Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni has left Inter’s retreat at Appiano Gentile as he will play no part in the game against Empoli on Friday evening, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

As has been reported by Sky Sport, via L’Interista, Alessandro Bastoni will not be recovering from his injury in time to make the bench at San Siro on Friday night.

It was already expected that he would not be starting the game as the same injury that kept him out of the win over Udinese was still affecting him.

He will rest up at home over the weekend and aim to be fit again as soon as possible. Federico Dimarco is expected to take his place on the left side of the defensive three against Aurelio Andreazzoli’s side at San Siro.

Hakan Calhanoglu and Denzel Dumfries will return to the starting lineup having been absent in Udine.
