Goalkeepers are proving crucial in the Scudetto race and AC Milan have an advantage over Inter, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been argued by Tuttosport today, AC Milan have a stronger goalkeeper than their title rivals and have therefore benefitted through the season from their counterpart’s mistakes.

Mike Maignan has been an inspired signing from Lille by the Rossoneri and he has barely put a foot wrong all season.

As for Napoli, their Scudetto fight was effectively ended by Alex Meret’s error that let Empoli draw level at 2-2. Napoli then lost the game and their title fight was over.

As for Inter, Andrei Radu’s error at Bologna could still prove to be the decisive moment in the Nerazzurri’s title fight.

Another way that AC Milan have benefitted is the error from Fiorentina goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano which allowed Rafael Leao to score a winning goal against La Viola.
