Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has said that Croatian winger Ivan Perisic is in great form right now ahead of the Empoli match, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking to DAZN ahead of the match at San Siro, via FCInternews, the former Lazio coach was asked about the importance of exploiting the flanks against Aurelio Andreazzoli’s Empoli side.

The coach was quick to point out that Ivan Perisic is in a wonderful patch of form but there is still Robin Gosens to come on if needed in the second half.

“He’s doing very well like everyone else. I also have Gosens who is doing well, Ivan is in a great patch of form. We’ll see if we need to make changes as the game progresses.”

The main decision that Simone Inzaghi had to make on Friday in regard to his team selection was whether to start with Joaquin Correa or Edin Dzeko in attack alongside Lautaro Martinez.

He has opted for Joaquin Correa but he stressed how happy he is to have all of his strikers fit and available at this key stage of the season.

“Seeing all the games we’re going to play, I’m lucky to have all the strikers available including Caicedo. Today they start, then we’ll see what happens during the game.”
