Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has said that the Nerazzurri are more focused on the Scudetto than the Coppa Italia final, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview with Inter TV before the match against Empoli, via FCInternews, the Turkish midfielder explained the team’s priorities heading into the final four games of the season.

“The objectives are important for us, but now let’s leave the Coppa Italia aside because we are focusing more on the Scudetto, which we want to win.”

He also stressed the importance of putting AC Milan under pressure ahead of their match away at Hellas Verona on Sunday evening, saying: “Today will be a very important match for us, if we win it maybe we can put some pressure on AC Milan. We have to look at match after match and today’s match is very important for us.”

Hakan Calhanolgu also said that the Nerazzurri have prepared well for the game at San Siro in training and they must be clinical to take all three points.

“We are focused, we analysed Empoli well because they play good football. We have to take advantage of all our opportunities and take the three points.”

The former AC Milan player will be starting the game after missing the match against Udinese last weekend because of a suspension.

He says that he feels good in the role that he plays on the left of the midfield three with a license to get up and support the strikers.

“I feel good in this role, I feel free. I always want to give my best for the team and the statistics come by themselves. The most important thing is that the team wins.”
