Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has said that Inter sent a message out by coming from behind to beat Empoli on Friday night, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking after the 4-2 victory to Inter TV, via FCInternews, the Argentinian forward said that a message has been sent to AC Milan that Inter are working hard to win the title.

“We sent out the message that we are here, that we are working to win. There are two important games left for us and for the championship, we must be happy with what we did today, recover our energy and look ahead to Wednesday.”

Lautaro Martinez scored Inter’s second and third goals of the game after the Nerazzurri had gone 2-0 down in the first half an hour of the game.

The brace continues his excellent return to form and he said he is happy to be helping the team with goals.

“I’m happy for today, I’m giving a hand to Inter, to my teammates and to the staff who give me confidence. It’s my job, I’m happy to score goals and help the team win.”

When asked if he feels like a more mature person now, he said that he does because he recently had a child with his partner.

“I feel it, I talk a lot with my family, maybe becoming a father has made me mature on and off the pitch. I always try to do my best with this shirt and to be strong off the field.”

Inter’s attention now turns to the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday against Juventus. Lautaro Martinez feels that the team are confident even though it will be difficult.

“Today we played a great game of heart and intensity. We have to recover from a physical point of view and then study the match well from a tactical point of view. It will be difficult, but we are confident ahead of Wednesday.”
