Inter want to hold talks with Nike to double the amount they earn from the kit manufacturing deal which expires in 2024, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by the Roman daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Inter have not earned as much as they would have initially liked from their Nike deal.

Given they had not qualified for the Champions League in five season, they only earned €4.25 million from Nike in 2017-18.

The base payout on the deal is now €12.5 million and bonuses are added to that for reaching the Champions League and the victories in that tournament.

Inter have decided they want to double the figure they earn, meaning a payout of €35-40 million per year. Winning a second Scudetto in a row would give Inter a lot more negotiating power with Nike as the second star on the shirt is very attractive to customers.
