Inter forward Joaquin Correa will be looking to redeem himself after a disappointing first season at the club when the Nerazzurri face Empoli, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere della Sera, Joaquin Correa was Inter’s most expensive signing of the previous summer transfer window but he has also been the most disappointing.

He signed from Lazio for a fee of €33 million but he has only managed to score four goals. They came in the form of two braces against Hellas Verona and Udinese. The most recent of these goals came back on October 31.

He is battling with Edin Dzeko to be given the start against Empoli alongside Lautaro Martinez but it is a fight he may lose. He will certainly come off the bench though and he will need to show Simone Inzaghi that he is worthy of starting the Coppa Italian final.
