Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has said that his team’s reaction to falling behind against Empoli gives them hope for the rest of the season, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview with Inter TV after the 4-2 victory, via FCInternews, the coach said that the comeback gave off a great signal and increases the team’s hope that they can still win the Scudetto despite having a points gap to make up.

“It was a great signal, in my opinion we had too much enthusiasm, we wanted to score immediately in front of this wonderful crowd and against Empoli it’s not good to lose the distance. We had a great reaction that gives us hope from here to the end.”

The former Lazio coach then explained that despite playing so many games this season, his team need to recover as best as possible to face Juventus in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday night.

“These guys have been working for a long time, we’ve gone straight ahead, we’ve played so many games this season. Now we need to recover for Wednesday and then we’ll have two more important games.”

The Inter boss was asked what the secret is behind his training sessions that are so effectual and he said it is the quality of strikers that he has in the squad.

“Having strikers with that quality. Those who started did very well and those who came on later made the difference. Now we have to continue like this from here to the end.”
