Italian journalist Fabio Caressa feels that the performances of forward Joaquin Correa since joining Inter last summer are virtually those of a different player from who he was at Lazio.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Deejay, Caressa commented on the seeming inability of the Argentine to really settle in at the Nerazzurri so far this season.

Correa was the second attacking signing that Inter made last summer following the departure of Romelu Lukaku, and in some ways he looked like the most straightforward signing of the window for them.

The 27-year-old followed coach Simone Inzaghi from Lazio, having had a good understanding with the coach while they were at the Biancocelesti together.

However, instead of making an impact equal to what he had done in the Italian capital or even having seen his level improve, the Argentine has so far only shown a few flashes of what he can really do and otherwise looked underwhelming.

“Correa’s been unrecognizable,” Caressa said, “he hasn’t really made an impact at Inter. Perhaps because they play slightly differently than Lazio did, but even when he has the opportunity, he doesn’t really take it.”
