Italian journalist Stefano Agresti believes that at this stage of the season, the only thing Inter need to do is get results.

Writing in his column in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Agresti emphasized that with only three matches left, the manner of victory is less important than simply winning to play for trophies.

Earlier on in the campaign, performances will have been just as important as results for the Nerazzurri, as a sense of momentum and confidence needed to be built up that positive results were sustainable.

Now, however, the team will have only one thing in mind, and that is taking six points from six in their final two Serie A matches of the season against Cagliari and Sampdoria as well as beating Juventus in any manner they can in the Coppa Italia final.

Agresti gave the view that “With two matches and three games to go in the league, it doesn’t matter how you win – you just need to do it.”

“Even going two goals behind against a team that is less equipped and less motivated,” he goes on. “Even by opening if you look defensively open.”

“If Inter had played such an up-and-down match a few months ago, Inzaghi would have had reason to worry about the future,” Agresti adds, “now he takes the three points and looks forward.”

“To Verona-Milan, of course,” he elaborates .” And also in the final of the Coppa Italia, which pits Inter against Juve on Wednesday.”

He suggests “The judgment of the Nerazzurri’s season – and therefore of their coach – will depend on the next two weeks.”
