Lautaro Martinez was Inter’s standout performer in their 4-2 win over Empoli in Serie A yesterday, according to Italian media.

The striker received an 8/10 grade in the player ratings for the match published in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the highest of any Nerazzurri player.

Martinez scored a brace to make sure that the Nerazzurri took three points after a dreadful start that saw them go 2-0 down, first scoring the equalizer and then the match-winner.

The Argentine’s contribution proved to be the decisive one, though the Gazzetta also praised the displays of Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, Marcelo Brozovic, and Ivan Perisic, awarding each of them 7/10 grades.

Meanwhile, 4.5/10 scores for defender Stefan de Vrij and forward Joaquin Correa were the lowest for any Nerazzurri players, with both of the pair coming in for criticism for their indecisive performances at both ends of the pitch as the Nerazzurri went 2-0 down.
