Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio is the favourite to start in defense in place of Alessandro Bastoni against Juventus in the Coppa Italia final if the 23-year-old is not fit.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 33-year-old is ahead of Federico Dimarco to start the match in the event that Bastoni is not available, although Bastoni is likely to be fit.

Bastoni is working towards a recovery from the muscle injury that kept him out of matches against Bologna, Udinese, and Empoli in time to start against the Bianconeri.

However, the 23-year-old is not yet back in full training and is expected to make his return to training for tomorrow, in the hopes that he will be ready for Wednesday’s match.

However, if Bastoni is not fit for the clash, it will be between D’Ambrosio and Dimarco to replace him, with the likeliest possibility being D’Ambrosio starting on the right while Milan Skriniar shifts over to the left.
