Inter have identified Nice midfielder Kephren Thuram as a major candidate to be signed as a backup to Marcelo Brozovic going into next season.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the Nerazzurri are increasingly convinced that the 21-year-old could be the right solution to bolster their squad in central areas.

Thuram’s form has been rapidly improving throughout this season, and this has attracted significant transfer interest with the Nerazzurri among his major suitors.

The midfielder would have the right profile to give the team a genuine deputy to Marcelo Brozovic, something that they have struggled with this season.

The Frenchman’s form has meant, however, that his valuation has also increased, and it remains to be seen whether the Nerazzurri would be ready to make the investment in him.

Meanwhile, Empoli’s Kristjan Asllani remains a consideration for the role although the Tuscans would like to keep him another season, while Bologna’s Jerdy Schouten is also on Inter’s list.
