Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini believes that it looks likely that Inter will agree a contract extension with wingback Ivan Perisic.
Writing in his column for Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, reported that things are looking positive that the 33-year-old will sign a new deal when the Nerazzurri sit down with him at the end of the season.
Extending with Perisic has increasingly become a priority for the Nerazzurri as the season has worn on, with the Croat’s form having marked him out as one of the outstanding players in all of Serie A.
It is not yet certain that an agreement will be found on an extension, but the club appear to be ready to make apush to convince him while the player seems closer to accepting a new deal than he had before.
Ceccarini explains the situation as being that “At the end of the season there will then be a meeting with Perisic to agree a new deal, the Croatian wingback has become key to the team.”
“His season has been brilliant and Inter want to keep the situation on the left flank unchanged, where Gosens also arrived in January,” he adds.
“Perisic’s request is a two-year deal, Inter would be more inclined towards a one-year contract with an option another one,” he explains.
“There is still a bit of distance between the parties but the negotiation go on and the signs remain positive,” he continued. “Same goes for Handanovic, who, if there are no twists, will stay in Milan.”
Ceccarini also updates on the situation of Paulo Dybala, writing that “Inter are working on their offer for Dybala, who intends to stay in Italy despite the interest of Atletico Madrid and Tottenham.”
He predicts that “The Nerazzurri are in pole position.”
“Marotta has always been a big fan of his and this is influencing the player’s decision,” he adds. “For Dybala the idea would be that of a four-year contract with a base of at least €6 million net per season, to which add-ons would also apply.”
