Legendary former Inter President Massimo Moratti would be very interested to see the Nerazzurri sign Paulo Dybala this summer and play him alongside Lautaro Martinez in attack.

Speaking to Italian news outlet L’Interista, Moratti gave his thoughts on the possibility of an attacking partnership being formed by the two Argentines as well as on the run-in of the current season.

Inter’s attack is up in the air going into next season, with Dybala strongly linked on a free transfer from Juventus, while Martinez has been linked with a potential sale.

Both of the pair could well be wearing a Nerazzurri shirt next season, one of the two could, or neither could conceivably.

For his part, Moratti would like to see the two of them together, and would be intrigued by the possibility of the duo forging a chemistry together leading the line for the Nerazzurri.

“Two players with that class together at the same club, maybe!” he said. “It would be very interesting to see them play together for Inter, let’s see how things develop.”

Of Martinez’s form, the former President said that “He’s finally managing to show all his qualities to the maximum, he’s grown a lot.”

“Yesterday he scored two wonderful goals,” he added, “with a lot of difficulty to both. Definitely the player to start with in any case.”

Of the final matches of the season, Moratti said that “Now is the time for superstition and waiting – let’s wait for Milan, I believe hoping is a duty, I’ve believed from the first day of the season, as every Inter fan believes.”

“Surely we’ve shown that we have the character to be able to try to win this Scudetto,” he added. “However, since it no longer depends just on us, all we can do is what Inter did yesterday – win and put pressure on our rivals.”

Of coach Simone Inzaghi, he said that “He’s done very well, and we’re waiting to see how the season ends to know more.”

“I’m certainly also confident for the future,” he added, “something beautiful can be built. But beautiful things must be built day by day with work.”
