Inter are optimistic that defender Alessandro Bastoni will be fit and available for their Coppa Italia final against Juventus this week.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that today’s training session will be decisive for determining whether the 23-year-old will be able to start against the Bianconeri.

Bastoni has been out with a muscle strain for the Nerazzurri’s past three matches, against the likes of Bologna, Udinese, and Empoli in Serie A.

He is close to making a return to action, however, and should be back in full training today, and the team are optimistic that he will have fully recovered as he re-joins the rest of the group in training.

If there are no issues for Bastoni in today’s training session, then the defender should be able to be back in the starting eleven for Wednesday evening’s match against the Bianconeri.
