Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti feels that while the Coppa Italia final will be difficult to predict as a one-off match, Inter are the stronger team on the pitch than Juventus going into it.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, Sconcerti gave the view that if the outcome of the match is to reflect the quality of the two teams, then it will be the Nerazzurri who prevail.

Inter can point to their superior points total in Serie A and their more sustained periods of positive form in the league, as well as arguably a more impressive showing the Champions League given the quality of opposition faced, as evidence that they are the better team than Juventus at the moment.

Moreover, they have beaten the Bianconeri once in the league and drawn the other match, whilst they also prevailed in the Supercoppa Italiana in January.

However, one-off matches like this evening’s final are not always a reflection of form or quality, especially against a team as formidable and experienced as Juventus.

“The better team is clearly Inter,” Sconcerti argued, “but a prediction in a one-off match like this is difficult to make. If the stronger team wins, Inter win.”
