Inter striker Lautaro Martinez showed that he is a leader for the Nerazzurri during the Coppa Italia final triumph against Juventus, according to a report in the Italian print media today.
As has been suggested by a report in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lautaro Martinez’s Coppa Italia final was largely one of disappointment when he was on the pitch at the Stadio Olimpico.
He did not manage to have much impact on the game when played alongside Edin Dzeko and it was clear that he wanted to take the penalty in the 80th minute. Hakan Calhanoglu took it instead and scored.
After being substituted by Simone Inzaghi, Lautaro Martinez got right in the thick of a dispute with Carlo Pinsoglio and Federico Bernardeschi on the Juventus bench.
That interaction led to Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri being sent off and it showed that Lautaro Martinez is a leader in the squad and did not let his disappointing game stop him from fighting for the club.
