Inter were the strongest team in the Coppa Italia final and Simone Inzaghi deserves praise for that, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Simone Inzaghi deserves praise for not letting the difficult Scudetto fight derail his team’s chances of winning the Coppa Italia.

Inter went into the game knowing that their match away at Cagliari on Sunday in Serie A is arguably a bigger game than the Coppa Italia final because if they drop points it will effectively hand the Scudetto to AC Milan.

Despite that, Inter maintained their effort levels throughout and came from behind to take Coppa Italia glory and ensure at least two trophies in Simone Inzaghi’s first season in charge at the club.

In contract, Massimiliano Allegri’s first season back at Juventus will now end without any silverware which is a major disappointment for the Bianconeri.
