Inter’s Coppa Italia final victory over Juventus on Wednesday night was worth €7 million to the club, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by football finance experts Calcio e Finanza, the Coppa Italia triumph is not just a sporting success for the Nerazzurri.

Both teams in the final were guaranteed to earn €3 million each just for reaching the final of the tournament but the winner knew that they would then get an extra €4.5 million.

The runner-up in the tournament gets an additional €2 million. Given Inter are heading into another summer where they want to improve the squad whilst also ending with an overall profit, every bit of prize money is more than welcome as far as Suning are concerned.

Inter won the game 4-2 in extra time after surrendering a 1-0 lead at the start of the second half. The goals came from Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu and Ivan Perisic.
