Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has said that Inter are still confident of keeping Ivan Perisic at the club next season, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by the journalist on his website gianlucadimarzio.com, the Croatian midfielder is out of contract at the end of this season and expressed some frustration after the Coppa Italia final at the club for not offering him the terms he wants for an extension.

Contract talks have been loosely happening between the two parties for much of the second half of the season but Ivan Perisic feels that he should be offered a better contract than the one the Nerazzurri are currently prepared to give.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio though, the club are still confident about their chances of keeping the former Wolfsburg winger.

“Inter are still confident of keeping him and being able to renew his contract for another two years despite yesterday’s outburst, but will have to polish up their proposal a little.

“It is obvious that it will always be up to the player to decide whether or not to accept the club’s next offer, with a possible raise.”

The current offer from Inter is for €4.5 million per season for two years.
