Inter have won their 8th Coppa Italia title after defeating Juventus 4-2 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
The Nerazzurri started the game off brilliantly after Nicolo Barella scored a screamer to break the deadlock in the 6th minute.
In the second half Juventus hit back with a double salvo equalizing via Alvaro Morata deflecting in an Alex Sandro shot in 48th minute, before Dusan Vlahovic scored two minutes later on the counter.
Hakan Calhanoglu equalized in the 80th minute from the penalty spot after Lautaro Martinez brought down and the game went to extra time.
Then it was time for the Ivan Perisic show who first converted from the penalty spot after Stefan de Vrij brought down before scoring a screamer, 4-2.
Samir Handanovic – 7: Had a world-class first half where he keeps Inter in the game. Had a nightmarish start to the second half but ended game on a high.
Milan Skriniar – 7: Started playing in his not so favourite position to the left of the back 3 before being moved to the right where he excelled as expected.
Stefan de Vrij – 7: Very good performance by the Dutchman, especially in the first half where he was a wall. Poor start to second half before back to greatness.
Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6: Decent first half where he was solid defensively and helped out occasionally in attack. Very poor start to the second half and subbed off.
Matteo Darmian – 6: Intelligent player, especially defensively where he gets it mostly right. Not as active in attack so brought off when Inter chased a goal.
Nicolo Barella – 7: Scored an absolute screamer in the opening minutes and worked his socks off. Made fewer mistakes than usual and looked like old self.
Marcelo Brozovic – 7: Was lucky not be sent off when he kicked the ball away like a petulant child but his performance on the pitch is simply brilliant.
Hakan Calhanoglu – 6,5: Struggled a lot throughout the game, tried to work his way into the game and did better without being good. Scored an ice-cold penalty.
Ivan Perisic – 10: Give this man a contract extension now Inter. A leader off the pitch as well as on it where his performances are simply world class.
Lautaro Martinez – 6: Didn’t have a good game especially in the first half where Dzeko got in his way. Better second half but far from good enough.
Edin Dzeko – 4: Dreadful. Offered absolutely nothing in either phase. Shouldn’t have started, should’ve been brought off at halftime. Looks finished.
Joaquin Correa – 6: Came on in the 63rd minute replacing Edin Dzeko and immediately Inter looked more balanced defensively but offered nothing in attack.
Denzel Dumfries – 6: Brought on in the 63rd min for Matteo Darmian when Inter were chasing a goal and gave team options out wide but wasn’t too involved.
Federico Dimarco – 6,5: Has now won two titles with club he’s supported since a child from the city he was born and raised in. Got an assist and worked socks off.
Arturo Vidal – 6: Replaced an exhausted Hakan Calhanoglu just before the 90th minute and did what he was asked to do without much fuss.
Alexis Sanchez – 6: Substituted on for Lautaro Martinez just before the 90th minute and was able to hold on to the ball up allowing Inter time to build.
Alessandro Bastoni – N/A: Did not play long enough to be rated when coming on for Federico Dimarco in the 116th minute.
Simone Inzaghi – 8: The rating is for his substitutions which were spot on. Got lucky one might argue given that he got starting line-up pretty much wrong.
Paulo Valeri – 6,5: Not an easy night for Valeri but he and VAR got all major decisions right. Made an error not sending Brozovic off when he kicked ball away.
Inter – 8: Have beaten Juventus three games in a row in calendar year of 2022 dethroning them from all 3 domestic competitions in 12 months.
