Inter legend Beppe Bergomi has suggested that whilst Inter will have taken a confidence boost from the Coppa Italia final, it may also have tired them out, according to a report in the Italian print media.

Speaking during an interview with Corriere della Sera, Beppe Bergomi explained that a huge amount of confidence will have been taken by Inter after beating Juventus 4-2 in the final of the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night.

“In Cagliari, Inter’s approach will be positive, the team has an extra boost of confidence.”

He did warn though, that the subsequent celebrations and the game itself will have taken a lot out of the Nerazzurri players both physically and mentally. That is something that could be exploited by Cagliari.

“But pay attention to the emotional and nervous loss of energy, the final was expensive.”

The match in Sardinia will be on Sunday evening and Inter know that if they fail to win, they have almost certainly lost the Serie A title to city rivals AC Milan.

The Rossoneri have a two point advantage with two games left to play.
