Inter boss Simone Inzaghi has earned his renewal but may have to cope with a big departure this summer, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Inter president Steven Zhang reaffirmed his commitment to keeping the team competitive whilst still reducing the wage budget and raising money this summer.

Simone Inzaghi is expected to soon renew his contract to 2025 with the Nerazzurri but he will have his work cut out again to keep Inter as a competitive team in 2022/23.

The club want to end the summer with a profit of €60-70 million and a wage bill that is reduced by 10-15%.

They have budgeted for one big sale this summer to help meet those figures and it will then be up to CEO Beppe Marotta, sporting director Piero Ausilio and his deputy Dario Baccin to deliver a squad that Simone Inzaghi can be successful with.
