Italian journalist Marco Nosotti believes that Inter will make every effort to extend the contract of Ivan Perisic given his performances this season.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, he noted how the Croat has been absolutely vital to the Nerazzurri’s season and suggested that allowing him to leave would be very difficult for the Nerazzurri.

Perisic had not necessarily been expected to be one of Inter’s outstanding performers at the beginning of this season, with the club having even been reportedly ready to allow him to leave.

However, the 33-year-old remained, and he cemented a key role in the team on the left-hand side, where his displays have been pivotal to the team in a number of matches.

The Croat’s contract situation remains ambiguous, especially after his outburst following his late heroics in the Coppa Italia final, in which he intimated that he was frustrated that his situation has been left to get to this point.

Nosotti gave the view that “They have Gosens, a great player, but Perisic has really given them so much that he’s saved them many times.”

“They lost Hakimi and Lukaku and changed their way of playing,” he added, “but many times he’s solved things for them with how effective he’s been. I think Inter will do everything to keep him.”
