Inter defender Federico Dimarco is happy with how the season has gone for him and the team and feels at home after returning from loan with Hellas Verona at the beginning of the season.

Speaking to InterTV ahead of the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Cagliari, the 24-year-old reflected on a season that is nearly done and gave his thoughts on the away clash with the Rossoblu.

Dimarco impressed on loan with the Gialloblu over the past two campaigns before this one, so much so that the Nerazzurri decided to give him a chance in the first team upon his return.

This has proved to be a good decision, as the 24-year-old has had an important role to play at various points during the season, first playing mostly at left-wingback before settling in as an option at left centre-back.

“I grew up with Inter,” he said, “I played here for many years, I feel at home here. I’m happy with this season but we hope to finish in the best way possible.”

“I’m a fan like everyone else,” he added, “I’m delighted that there are so many fans supporting us both at home and away. I hope that they continue to be with us over the coming years.”

The 24-year-old gave his thoughts on this evening’s clash with Cagliari, stating that “At this point all the matches are difficult, as the final of the Coppa Italia was as well, and this match and also next Sunday’s match.”

He stressed that “We must take to the pitch with the same desire and the same intensity as we did on Wednesday to bring home the result.”
