Inter wingback Ivan Perisic is not interested in joining Newcastle United this summer, although he is waiting for other offers from the Premier League with Chelsea in particular a consideration.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 33-year-old would consider joining a top-level club in the English top flight.
The Nerazzurri had a meeting with Perisic’s agent prior to the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday, in which their most recent contract extension offer was decisively rejected, so a departure on a free transfer this summer could be on the cards.
The Croat is still considering his options, however, as no proposal has yet come in which has convinced him, while the Nerazzurri will likely return with another offer.
Juventus are among the teams interested in signing Perisic on a free transfer, while Newcastle are a team he has already indicated that he is not interested in joining, but Chelsea would be among the destination he would be ready to consider.
