Lautaro Martinez has been named as Inter’s standout player in their 3-1 win over Cagliari in Serie A yesterday evening.

The 24-year-old was awarded an 7.5/10 score for his performance in the player ratings for the match in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport after his match-winning brace.

Martinez started the match off well yesterday evening, but failed to get on the scoresheet as Cagliari goalkeeper Alessio Cragno and the frame of the goal got in the way of his efforts.

The Rossoblu couldn’t keep Martinez out in the second half, however, as Martinez first put the Nerazzurri 2-0 up, and then after Charalampos Lykogiannis’s goal for 2-1 made things nervier, gave his team breathing room with a goal for 3-1.

On the other hand, the only player deemed to be subpar among the Nerazzurri’s team in the match was Martinez’s strike partner Edin Dzeko, who looked off the pace and had little impact, getting just a 5.5/10 grade.
