Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has given his players two days off to rest before training resumes on Wednesday.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the coach has decided to allow the squad the period of time off in order to recharge ahead of next Sunday’s Serie A clash with Sampdoria.

Inter have just one more match left to go before the end of the season, but it will take one more big push to secure three points against the Blucerchiati and give themselves a chance in the Serie A title race.

The team have already been stretched thin in recent weeks, particularly after an exhausting Coppa Italia final against Juventus which went to extra time.

The coach’s priority is to make sure that the squad have as much energy, mentally and physically, as possible for their match against Sampdoria so he has given them the time off.
