The Coppa Italia trophy will not be unveiled before kickoff at Inter’s final match of the season against Sampdoria at the San Siro.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will wait until a later time to formally present the trophy that was won last week against Juventus.

Inter will be fighting for the Serie A title until the last day, even if this looks to be improbable as they will need for city rivals AC Milan to lose their final match of the season away to Sassuolo to have a chance of it.

However, the Nerazzurri do not want to give the impression that their season is effectively complete with their Coppa Italia triumph, and are continuing to believe that their season can climax with a dramatic Scudetto triumph on the final day.

Accordingly, the team will wait and see how things go on Sunday before taking stock of their season and unveiling the Coppa Italia trophy, in the hopes that they could also be presenting the Scudetto to their fans.
