Former Inter defender Daniele Adani feels that the Nerazzurri’s prospects in the Serie A title race are all but done after the results of the weekend.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, as reported by FCInter1908, Adani gave the view that AC Milan have done enough with a game to go and that the Nerazzurri will not be able to catch them.

Inter are still in the Scudetto race but they need to rely on an upset victory by Sassuolo over their city rivals, regardless of what happens in their match against Sampdoria.

The Nerazzurri can take three points against the Blucerchiati but this would only be enough to see them defend last season’s Scudetto crown in the event that the Rossoneri don’t even manage a draw against the Neroverdi.

Playing Sassuolo away will not be a straightforward task, but the Rossoneri have been in excellent form through the climax of the season, culminating in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Atalanta.

“For me it ended over the weekend,” Adani said. “Milan had to pass one last test and they did so. I think it’s fair that Milan win the Scudetto. It’s not over, there’s one last round left to play but I think it’s deserved.”
