Former Inter striker Nicola Ventola feels that if Ivan Perisic can keep his level from this season up for another season and a half then he would be worth a significant investment in a new contract.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, Ventola gave the view that the Nerazzurri should do everything they can to keep the 33-year-old if he can keep contributing at this level.

Despite being one of the most senior players in the Nerazzurri’s squad, Perisic has been one of the players to have taken the biggest steps up in terms of performances levels this season.

The Croat has been one of the standout players and has played a key role in many of the best performances by the team all through the campaign.

The question of whether to offer a major contract to a player who is 33 years old appears to be weighing heavily on the Nerazzurri’s decision-making process, but for Ventola if they can get more out of him then they should do so.

“Physically he’s in good condition,” he said of the Croat. “He’s asking for a three-year contract? I’ll sign it even if he’s only playing like this a year and a half, the other year and a half I’ll give him.”
