Former Inter, Lazio, and Atletico Madrid striker Christian Vieri feels that Inter’s season has overall been a very positive one no matter how it ends.

Speaking on his Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, Vieri cited the style of play and ability to dominate opponents as reasons for his positive assessment and argued that the team cannot be faulted too much for their loss away to Bologna last month.

The Nerazzurri are still in the running for the Serie A title even if city rivals AC Milan are the team with the advantage, and they have taken two pieces of silverware already in the form of the Supercoppa Italiana and the Coppa Italia.

Combined with progression to the knockout rounds of the Champions League for the first time in a decade, the season has been a more successful one than many had predicted at the start of the campaign.

The results have come on the back of some very impressive performances at times, and Vieri feels that overall it’s been a very good season from then Nerazzurri.

“For me Inter’s season is a 9.5/10,” he said. “They had an incredible Champions League campaign. They went out against Liverpool, and if they’d drawn a different team then anything could have happened.”

“They won two cups and fought for the Scudetto until the last day after having just lost against Bologna, for which I don’t feel that they should be blamed.”

“Against Empoli, having been 2-0 down, they could have scored 10-12 goals,” Vieri pointed out. “They dominate against everyone.”
