Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has told the club that he will only leave during the summer if he is asked to.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the 24-year-old has made his desire to stay for next season clear to the club but that if they feel that a sale is necessary he could be on his way.

Martinez is the likeliest candidate to depart should the Nerazzurri decide that a big name sale is necessary in the summer for financial reasons.

However, for his part the Argentine is happy at the club where he signed a contract extension until the end of June 2026 in the fall, and would like to continue to grow as part of the Inter project.

Nevertheless, if the Nerazzurri receive an offer they feel they are not in a position to refuse, as was the case with the sales of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku last summer, Martinez would not stand in the way of a sale.
