Bologna midfielder Jerdy Schouten and River Plate midfielder Enzo Fernandez are among the players Inter are considering to sign as a deputy for Marcelo Brozovic.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the duo both fit the sought-after profile of a young player who has similar characteristics to Brozovic and can back him up.

A player who can back Brozovic up in the squad is a priority for the summer transfer window, given that the team have looked unable to cope in his absence this campaign.

Empoli’s Kristjan Asllani looks to be the primary target, whilst the Nerazzurri are also among the clubs who would be interested in signing out-of-favour Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

Should these targets not be attainable, however, the club will look to other players with the same profile, with Schouten a name high up on their list within Serie A.

Fernandez has emerged as another target, although the 21-year-old is also a target for a number of Europe’s top clubs, and has a release clause for €20 million.
