Juventus head coach Max Allegri is a driving force behind the Bianconeri’s pursuit of Inter wingback Ivan Perisic.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the coach is convinced that the 33-year-old is the right signing to strengthen for next season.

Juventus are still weighing up a concrete offer to Perisic, and there is still some reluctance regarding the size of the wages that would likely be required to convince the Croat to make the switch on a free transfer.

However, Allegri is an admirer of Perisic and feels that his consistency, versatility, and experience would bolster the Bianconeri’s squad as they look to build on this season’s fourth place finish.

For Allegri, a move for Perisic would be a priority if the 33-year-old doesn’t agree a new contract with Inter and is available, and this could be the decisive factor in determining his next destination if he leaves.
