Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is motivating his team in the same way Sven Goran Eriksson did when the pair were at Lazio in 2000, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, there is a parallel between Simone Inzaghi’s current situation and the one he was in as a player for Lazio back in 2000.

Simone Inzaghi was part of Sven Goran Eriksson’s Lazio team that managed to win the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia in the year 2000 and the Swedish coach had to get the best out of his players on the final day.

Simone Inzaghi now needs to motivate his team to get all three points against Sampdoria at San Siro on Sunday and hope that Sassuolo can beat AC Milan at the Mapei Stadium.

It would be some turnaround but should it happen, Simone Inzaghi will have had an incredible debut season as the Inter boss.
