Atalanta forward Duvan Zapata is a viable transfer alternative to Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca for Inter, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, Lautaro Martinez is likely to stay at Inter this summer which means the need to buy multiple forwards has been reduced.

For a long time it seemed that Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca would be the man to join the attack but the Neroverdi now want €40-50 million for the Italian striker and that is impossible for Inter.

Juventus’ Paulo Dybala is a more plausible option in attack but only on a very specific set of financial conditions.

That means Inter have turned their attention to Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata who has been linked in the past. Provided that Atalanta do not follow Sassuolo’s lead and inflate the cost of the 31-year-old, he could be an ideal replacement for Edin Dzeko as a starter next season.
