Inter are interested in signing AS Roma midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan on a free transfer this summer but he could still extend with the Giallorossi, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is out of contract with AS Roma at the end of the season and whilst Jose Mourinho said that he wants to stay and the club wants to keep him, no agreement has been forthcoming as of yet.

The Armenian has been played in a deeper midfield role this season than the one he is normally associated with. This is why Inter are attracted to him.

He could provide a quality level of cover for Inter’s main three midfielders throughout the season whilst also having the tactical ability to play further forward if needed.

AS Roma are optimistic about keeping him Inter are monitoring the situation very closely.
