Inter youngster Marco Pompetti has said that he would happily spend another year on loan at Pescara but the Nerazzurri will decide on his future, according to a report in the Italian media.
Speaking during an interview at the Best Biancazzurro award event, via FCInternews, Matteo Pompetti explained that it has been a great stimulus for him to go on loan to Pescara, the city where he was born and grew up.
“Wearing the jersey of the team where I grew up was a great stimulus. It gave me responsibility. I think it showed.”
It certainly does show because the 21-year-old has managed to get four goals and nine assists from central midfield this season in Serie C-B having made 31 appearances in the league.
He has said that he would be delighted to spend another season on loan at Pescara but it is Inter who will have the final say over his future.
“If I was offered the chance to play another season at Pescara I would be delighted. But it’s premature to talk about it. Inter will decide.”
He also added that he is happy to have shown he can play in different midfield roles during the season.
“I’m happy because I’ve shown I can also play in a role other than the natural one of playmaker. It’s a shame about the end of the season.”
