Former Inter striker Christian Vieri feels that it’s still far too early to declare AC Milan Serie A champions ahead of the Nerazzurri.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster RAI Radio, Vieri gave the view that those who predict that a Rossoneri win over Sassuolo to take home the Serie A title is is all but inevitable are failing to see the inherent unpredictability of football.

Milan’s advantage over Inter going into the final matches of the season is impossible to deny, as they only need a point from their clash away to the Neroverdi in order to ensure that they finish the season as champions.

However, Sassuolo are a team who have already beaten them before, in addition to winning matches against the likes of Inter and Juventus this season.

The Rossoneri will be fired up to try and finish the job tomorrow and win the title, but the Neroverdi will also be highly motivated, which can also be said of Sampdoria when they travel to the San Siro to face Inter tomorrow.

“Whoever says they’ve already won it doesn’t understand anything,” Vieri said. “They’ve still got a game to play, Sassuolo won’t want to make a bad impression in front of 30,000 of their fans and the whole world.”

“The whole world will watch the match and no one will want to make a fool of himself,” he predicted. “It will be a hard-fought match. The same for Inter’s match against Sampdoria.”

“Sampdoria won’t want to travel to San Siro an concede three goals in front of 80,000 people with the whole world watching them,” he suggested.

“Go out there and play the games,” the former striker said. “There will be two very beautiful, competitive matches. Milan have the advantage, even a draw is enough for them, but we’ve seen that in football they can anything happen.”
