Italian journalist Ivan Zazzaroni has major doubts about the fit of Paulo Dybala in the tactical setup favoured by Inter coach Simone Inzaghi.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Deejay, Zazzaroni gave the view that the 28-year-old would struggle to carve out a role for him in the 3-5-2 formation that the Nerazzurri play under Inzaghi.

Inzaghi is not likely to dramatically alter his preferred system to accommodate any player, and so the question of whether or not a move for Dybala would be successful would likely turn on whether or not the Argentine’s qualities would make him effective in a forward role that fits with the rest of the squad.

The 28-year-old’s talent is hardly in question, but for Zazzaroni, seeing him play in one of the forward positions in Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system would not be the best way to use the qualities that he has shown himself to have.

“He wouldn’t play much in Inzaghi’s 3-5-2,” Inzaghi said of the Juventus forward. “He can play as a second striker, but not overly well.”
