Basel are interested in loaning in Inter striker Sebastiano Espositio again next season, but not in signing him permanently.

This according to today’s print edition of German-language Swiss newspaper Blick!, who report that the Swiss giants are negotiating to try and extend the 19-year-old’s loan spell but that their financial situation means that buying him outright would be difficult.

Esposito joined Basel last summer on a season-long loan deal, and he has largely had a strong season in spite of some disciplinary issues which have occurred during his season.

The Swiss side have no doubt that they would like to keep Esposito for another season, but they cannot afford to pay the €8 million clause in the loan deal that would see them sign the striker on a permanent basis.

Accordingly, they are working to try and extend his loan deal, although it remains to be seen whether the Nerazzurri would be ready to let hhim go out on loan for another season.
