Inter are planning to make two signings in midfield this summer, with Roma’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Empoli’s Kristjan Asllani their main targets in central areas.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri are ready to get deals done for the pair to strengthen in key areas in the centre of the pitch.

Mkhitaryan has not yet agreed a contract extension with Roma, and the 33-year-old increasingly looks set to leave the Giallorossi on a free transfer this summer.

The Nerazzurri are ready to accept the Armenian’s demand of a €2 million signing bonus and then a two-year deal worth a net of €4 million per season in order to bring him in on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, Asllani has been clearly identified as the priority option to provide a backup option to Marcelo Brozovic for next season, although the Albanian’s club Empoli will still have to be convinced.
