Inter President Steven Zhang has promised coach Simone Inzaghi that the squad will remain competitive even with the financial restrictions set for the summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who reported that the President has assured the coach that the squad will be at the level necessary to compete for the Serie A title next season.

As with last summer, the Nerazzurri will have to meet clear financial goals during the summer transfer window, although it will be less chaotic than it was last time around.

The coach has made his stance clear, and does not want to see the same kind of sacrifices as took place last summer as he looks to build on a positive first campaign in charge.

Zhang has told Inzaghi that even with the necessity to pursue certain objectives in terms of capital gains and slashing the wage bill, the competitiveness of the team will not be sacrificed.
