Inter are waiting until after Roma’s Conference League final against Feyenoord for clarification on the situation of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who they are targeting on a free transfer.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that it is not yet clear that the Armenian will be leaving the Giallorossi at the end of his current deal, but that his future will be settled after his team’s final match of the season.

Mkhitaryan has not yet agreed a new deal with Roma, with his current contract set to run out at the end of next month, and Inter have identified him as a target as they make free transfers an important part of their strategy for the window.

It is not yet certain that the 33-year-old will not extend with the Giallorossi, however, and they will still make an attempt to keep him on.

Roma play one more match this season, having reached the Conference League final against Feyenoord, and they will have the decisive talks with Mkhitaryan after this.
