Inter will terminate the contract of midfielder Arturo Vidal in the next few days, as the Chilean looks to be on the verge of a summer switch to Brazilian side Flamengo.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri will pay the 35-year-old a severance of €4 million in order to part ways with him.

Vidal’s departure has long been expected, as he is not in Inter’s plans for next season and they are aiming to get his high salary off of their wage bill as they look to trim down the wage bill for next season.

The Chilean has been strongly linked with a move to Brazilian giants Flamengo in recent weeks, having hinted at the possibility on social media, and he has now reportedly agreed terms.

All that will be needed will be for the midfielder to be released from his Inter contract, which the club will do with the severance payment.
